Realm Lovejoy's HENCE (Le Fay Series) Tour & Giveaway

Title: Henge (Le Fay Series)
Author: Realm Lovejoy

Genre: YA Fantasy

Inspired by one of the greatest legends of all time…

Modern-day Camelot. Where knights no longer carry swords. Magic is dangerous. And those who seek control are not to be trusted.

Sixteen-year-old Morgan le Fay is a fire user. An ordinary girl with an extraordinary skill, she has the ability to create and command fire at will. Her dream is to become the Maven—the right hand of the future King Arthur. In the chance of a lifetime, Morgan is selected to join Arthur’s Round, an elite group of young magic users from which the new Maven will be chosen.
Along with the other fire, water, and wind users in Arthur’s Round, Morgan is rigorously trained and tested. The handsome Merlin, a brilliant water user, takes a particular interest in her. Is his friendship to be trusted, or is Merlin simply trying to win the position of Maven for himself? Among the many rivals Morgan faces is the current Maven, Mordred, who seems determined to see her fail.
But Morgan has a secret—years ago, her mother was executed for using fire magic, and Morgan’s desire for justice makes her more than ready to take on the challenge before her. Can she prevail in Camelot’s tests of survival and magic? Only time—and Morgan’s powerful fire—will tell.
Realm Lovejoy’s modern Arthurian series features one of literature’s most complicated and powerful female figures. Henge is the first book in the LE FAY series, and—like Morgan le Fay’s magic—it is sure to dazzle and amaze.

Excerpt:
I march through the aisles of rich brown- and gold-lettered books in search of the magic section, stepping over marble floors inlaid with gems and polished wood. The smell of old leather and paper waft through the air as I study the books lining the shelves. The books are bound with ancient, faded leather, gilded with medieval designs. There’s a sense that this is a place of deep knowledge.
Someone is walking on the other side of the library, passing a window. He’s in a suit. Familiar hair in a distinct shade of cool, dark blond. Merlin. Perhaps he’s hoping to get a head start on the assignment too. I ignore him and walk the other way, wandering through a maze of shelves, searching for the magic section. His shoes clack on the marble floor, occasionally squeaking on the freshly mopped areas.
I slip away into the shaded aisles. It’s full of fiction—ancient legends and such—and I still hear his steps. Every time I turn around it seems like he’s hovering nearby. Whirling past another shelf, through a small crack between the books, a flash of his eyes meets mine. “Hi, Morgan,” he greets.
“Hello,” I reply a bit stiffly.
“Do you come here often?” he asks.
Is he trying to be funny? “I was hoping to get some books,” I reply just as an announcement is made over the loudspeaker that the library is closing. “But I guess I’m out of time.” Thanks to you, stalker.
“There’s always tomorrow morning before class starts,” he says. “Just have to finish breakfast quickly.”
“Yeah, good idea.” I wave good-bye and walk away.
Merlin walks around the bookshelf to trail behind me. “Hey, I’m sorry you got banded. It happens though. It’s part of being a magic user. I got banded as a kid all the time.”
I’m not a kid. I shouldn’t get banded for using magic.
“Yeah.” I shrug.
“You can still legally use magic in self-defense.”
“Thanks for the tip.”
He walks beside me in awkward silence until we eventually split off toward our chambers. When I look behind me, I catch him watching me with a sterile, indifferent stare—different from the personable look he had earlier. I shiver as I turn away. Mother always told me to be wary of people with two faces.

Chapter One The Creature

There is a time just before a storm hits when everyone is lulled into a false sense of security, so that when the storm arrives, the splendour of its power weakens knees. Rose was in that moment – the summer air was saturated with heat, the sky bruised, the light bursting its final golden shower; everything felt suspended – like a time that wasn't supposed to exist. It was beautiful, yet deep down and against every bit of logic, Rose wanted no part in it – she wanted it to be over, she wanted the storm to unleash itself upon her.
And, then it did.
The light faded across the open field as a grey wall of clouds prepared for battle. Rose raised her eyes as lightning punctured then tore across the sky. Thunder replied by rumbling and stomping through the trembling valley. Then the rain came, falling softly at first, but soon pounding the steaming earth. Her body stung from the rain's assault and woke her from a daze.
'Claudia!' she yelled, but the wind arrived and blew away her words. Running forward into the downpour, shielding her eyes from the rain, she searched the bushes around her. She couldn't see more than a foot in front of her. How could she possibly find her cousin?
'Damn it!' she cried out.
She knew, in the place that told the truth, something was terribly wrong. Claudia hated storms with a passion and if there was any way she could have made it back to the farmhouse she would have.
As she ran toward another group of bushes, a bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating a dark shape that seemed to be looming over something – or someone. She stopped running; causing James to run into her and push her flat to the ground, landing so hard that the wind was knocked out of her. She swiftly rolled over, gasping for air.
'Are you okay?' James leaned down and touched her cheek, asking, 'Are you hurt?'
Rose pushed his hand away, annoyed at how her face tingled where he had touched her. She tried to sit up, but couldn't quite make it, so made do with leaning back on her elbows.
'What do you think you were doing?' she gasped, still struggling for breath.
'I was running behind you, and then you just – stopped, and I ran into you. I'm very sorry.'
The memory of the dark figure in the bushes rushed into Rose's mind. She lurched forward, trying to stand up, but it was too soon and she started to fall back down.
James stopped her fall and yelled through the rain. 'Hey, what are you doing? What's the matter?'
'I saw something,' she pointed to the bushes where she had seen the figure, 'when the lightning flashed – I saw a dark shape over there.'
She felt James' warm hand find hers. For a split second it felt so natural, but then she remembered, and immediately pulled away.
'Let's go check it out,' she said, walking slowly toward the bushes.
With each step forward, she felt as though the darkness she kept locked inside was being released and spreading through her. Somehow, James' hand had found its way back into hers and now she clung to its warmth.
A scream ripped through the rain, Claudia's scream, and the story it told reached in and squeezed Rose's heart. Letting go of James' hand, Rose lunged forward. Two steps further into the bushes brought her to Claudia huddled into a ball against a tree and staring, transfixed, at the rain-shrouded figure in front of her.
'Oi!' Rose shouted. 'Leave her alone!'
'Get away from her!' James roared in a voice Rose didn't know he possessed.
Lightning filled the sky, exposing the creature, for that is what it was. Covered in a black cloak from head to foot, the only thing she could make out was a face that appeared shrivelled upon itself, with skin so thin it was transparent; revealing no blood in the veins beneath it. The mouth was an ebony pit filled with a red tongue that licked at crumbling teeth. The nose, long and narrow, hooked downwards.
But, it was the creature's eyes that told his story – black holes that spoke of a thousand years spent in the darkness with only hatred, evil, and death for company. Every part of Rose's being was sickened and repulsed, yet she knew that the thing possessed a dark power beyond any she had ever known. She knew they were lambs before a wolf.
The dark creature turned and moved toward Claudia.
'Get away from her!' Rose screamed. It didn't hesitate. 'Claudia, RUN!'
'Rose!' Claudia called out her.
'Run!' screamed Rose.
'Rose, wake up!' yelled Claudia. 'You're having another nightmare.'
With a jolt that left her breathless, Rose awoke.
'Are you okay?' asked Claudia. 'What was it about?'
Rose sat up, drenched in sweat.
'You were lost in a storm and I found you, but then I saw the creature.'
'The creature,' said Claudia. 'What kind of creature?'
Rose knew they were safe, but she couldn't stop her heart from racing as she remembered the creature's face as it stared at Claudia like she was his prey.
'It was from another world,' said Rose, and as she said the words out loud she knew them to be true.
'From some far-away magical land, was it? Where your ghosts live?'
The hot room they shared suddenly felt suffocating. 'What do you mean, where my ghosts live?'
'You think this is the first time you've talked in your sleep?' said Claudia, hopping back into her bed.
'What did I say?'
'It's more a question of what haven't you said. All I can say is you have one hell of an imagination. Magical worlds. Creatures. Ghosts. As if.'
Claudia turned away in a huff and pulled her sheets up to her neck. In seconds, she was fast asleep.
No doubt dreaming of sunsets, ice creams, and beaches with palm trees. If only she knew!
Rose threw off her sweaty sheets and stormed toward the French doors that led to the veranda. Sleep, which came so easily to Claudia, was no longer a friend of hers.

Randi Cooley Wilson's REDEMPTION Blog Tour & Giveaway

The Perfect Gift
By
Randi Cooley Wilson

The Revelation Series is chock-full of interesting characters. Some human, some supernatural, many of them sexy and hot. I sat down recently with the series leading female character, Eve Collins and asked her what she’s planning to get the rest of the characters you’ve come to know and love for the holidays. See her Holiday Gift list below.
Asher St. Michael ( Eve’s Love Interest and Protector): Surprisingly, Asher loves to read. I realize how odd that sounds since he uses most of his free time to lip lock with me. This year, I got him a signed hardcover edition of The James Bond Dossier by Ian Fleming. It’s a first edition, first printing. THE AUTHOR’S COPY.It’s in the publisher’s unique presentation binding of quarter red morocco over red cloth boards. He’s going to flip. (Also a little something from La Perla but that’s for his eyes only).
Gage Gallagher (The Mysterious Gargoyle): Some of you may not know this but Gage actually studied architecture. So this year, he’s getting a coffee table book of Frank Llyod Wright designs.Only if he can make up his mind and decide where his loyalties lay.
Callan (Asher’s Brother): La Creuset 4-piece bakeware set in green, his protector stone color, because, I mean come on. Callan’s cookies are the best!.
Abby (Callan’s Mate): Abby loves clothes. So, I got her a gift certificate to Nordstrom. Which no doubt, she’ll force me to spend the day playing dress-up with.
Keegan (Asher’s Older Brother): A custom dagger for his collection engraved with rubies, his protector stone.
McKenna (Keegan’s Mate): I hear that McKenna is super allergic to wool. Like, face blows up allergic. So, I got her the most gorgeous wool scarf. I know she’ll just love it.
Michael (Archangel): I got him an angel for the top of his tree. Yep, I think it’s deserved. It lights up and everything, he’s going to love it (insert sarcism here).
Elizabeth (Eve’s Aunt): An engraved gardening set because my aunt has the most beautiful garden on the Vineyard.
Wishing you all the best holiday season from all the cast of The Revelation
Series. The author too, but she doesn’t usually get to talk much.

Read below for an excerpt from the book:
Strong arms wrap tightly around my waist and tug me back to a warm, muscular chest. Asher lifts his hand and moves my hair to one side, over my shoulder, so he can have access to my neck. I tilt my head to the right, making it easy for his lips to gently brush the sensitive skin under my left ear before leaving a trail of soft kisses.
“Someday, when this is all over, I promise you’ll have the peace you’re craving. It will be just me and you, siren,” he vows quietly.
I sigh in contentment. “That’s all I want, Ash.”
“Then I’ll move Heaven and earth to make sure you get it."
I turn to face him and push up on my tiptoes. Leaning in, I give him a slow, molten kiss. I push everything I feel for him into the gesture. I want to fill every space of his soul, the way he does mine.
It’s like I’m trying to climb inside his heart and live there. I’m not sure how long we stay like this, in our own private, perfect moment, but I never want to leave.
Breathlessly, I pull away. My eyes find Asher’s. “What is it you want the most?”
Asher’s intense gaze holds mine, taking my breath away. “Redemption.”

Excerpt:
Alex tilted his head. “Now that’s a tepid thank-you. I expected a little more gratitude than that, but really, knowing you, I wouldn’t have gotten it.”
Her gaze snapped back to him. “Oh, I don’t begrudge credit where it’s due, but knowing you, you’d ask for more than just gratitude.”
“And what exactly would I ask for?”
Her back bumped gently into the wall. He’d somehow maneuvered things, so that he was cornering her. It was so reminiscent of the incident that had happened by the lockers that her stomach fluttered in remembrance.
“Well …” she drawled, conscious of that edgy excitement shivering through her body. “You’re already in the gutter. I don’t think it’ll be too hard for you to come up with a few suggestions.”
He placed a hand on the wall, next to her head. “Well, that depends on what you’re offering.”
She smiled into his eyes. “A hard kick in the ass.”
Alex laughed. “Baby, my door’s open anytime. You know where I live.”
“Oh yes, that room.” She clicked her tongue. “Not to embarrass you or anything, but from what I overheard, Mandy didn’t seem to be enjoying herself.”
She couldn’t begin to count the wall-banging, clutching-at-sheets, screaming orgasms she’d heard that time when Mandy had stopped by the house, but she had always suspected Mandy had played it up a bit for Alex’s ego.
“That boyfriend must not have treated you right after all. Or else, you’d know the difference between screams of pleasure and pain.”
“Jason and I were together for three years.” She cast him a sultry glance under her eyelashes. “But you and your countless girls … there must be a reason why they always leave you in the end.”
“No, baby, they don’t leave me. They just don’t hold my interest.”
“Are you tired of how they keep faking it for your benefit?”

“Now, if you’re that desperate for a demonstration …”

About the Author
Given my love for cities and all that is gritty, my new obsession with trees really has me stumped. (Sorry.) Maybe it's because trees are the inspiration behind my new YA/NA novel, THE LETTING.
Whatever the reason for my new infatuation, some things remain constant -- like my love for: coffee (although sadly, it's now decaf); yoga; Luna bars (I am petitioning for them to bring back Chocolate Raspberry!); running in my neighborhood; Hemingway; Bukowski... and, above all, my husband and my girls. I am the author of the bestselling novel, Sleeping With Mortals: The Story of a New York Mistress, and I'm also a playwright. I have my B.A. in English and my M.A. in Theatre.

Excerpt:
“What if the Devil doesn’t know he’s the Devil?” I ask.
Phoenix shakes his head, confused. “What?”
“Why? Why does the bad I’ve done have to define me?”
“Because you’re a murdering sadist,” he snaps back at me.
“No, I am not.” I clench my teeth, standing my ground. I am tired of these labels I am suddenly wearing. “I never, I mean never knew what happened to those girls I led to the Lettings. I am so very sorry I played any role in this vile enterprise in which we exist, but I was clueless. Maybe I’m ignorant, or downright stupid, but I would rather have been dead than be responsible for hurting anyone. And before you go throwing malicious names around, maybe it’s time you consider maybe you’re wrong...? What if you kidnapped and tortured me in the name of a revolution that is wrong?”
“It’s not,” he argues.
“But I didn’t think I was wrong, either.” I am exasperated. “Don’t you get it?” He takes a step back away from me, but I go on. “We are completely turned around. The only information we’re fed is from a corrupt enterprise. What makes you think your information is any more accurate than mine?”
For the first time ever, he looks terrified. I let a moment go by before I gesture for Raven to come over, and she hurries to my side.
"This is Raven," I say, slowly, talking to Phoenix. "She's your sister."

Excerpt:
‘Don’t worry, my dear. Everything will be just fine.’ Holding her around the shoulder, Mr Patel slipped off her school bag. Deepti didn’t even try to stop him; she just stood there, letting him move her around. He passed me the bag. Automatically, my hand reached out and I took it.
‘You can leave,’ he told me, staring at Deepti. ‘Deepti and I have something to
discuss now, don’t we dear?’
‘Don’t touch her!’ My voice sounded weak, afraid.
He said nothing, just turned away from me, as though I didn’t exist, as though
Deepti was the only thing in the world to him, like she was his own personal private present.
I held her bag to my chest, fighting for breath. This is not happening. This is not
happening
‘Stop it!’ I could feel my anger, almost taste it on my tongue.
Mr Patel looked at me, his face mildly surprised, as though he wasn’t doing
anything wrong. ‘But Miss Jalali and I have an understanding.’ He smiled at me. His skin was olive-gray and his eyes had tiny red veins in them. ‘The last time I caught her lovely hands stealing my stock, I warned her. Didn’t I, Miss Jalali? I told you I would demand payment of you.’
Deepti turned her head away. ‘No! No!’ She struggled against him like a pinned
fly. ‘I didn’t. I didn’t. Please let me go!’ She was crying now, really crying.
‘Let her go!’ But my voice sounded small and weak, and he ignored me.
Oh my God. What do I do? Then, quite suddenly, I wasn’t scared – I felt angry.
The walls of the grotty shop seemed to pulse in time with my heart. Who the hell did this man think he was? I heard a distant roaring, the sound of fire and heat and red-hot flames.
I shouted, ‘Leave her alone!’
